Marathon Post-Mortem Part 2
It's been two weeks since the MS Blues Marathon. The memory softens the hardships endured during the race and allows for perspective.
I've run a few trail runs and regular road runs since then. All in the effort of recovery. With the fitness attained on the 26.2 mile "long run," it would be good to do some kind of maintenance running as well.
The lessons of the marathon are life lessons. Lessons of persistence, of tenacity and determination. Commitment is another word which could be used as well. All of these are metaphors about life. Having goals in life is part of the fun. How else can we feel we've accomplished our desires?
The next few weeks will be routine running, strength training and nutrition oriented. I'll check back in on this blog when I can, but not on the daily basis that was the training log.
I hope that you keep your running and exercise plans in front of you!
Gotta run,
Chuck
