Day 153- 5.6 mile maintenance run
Today’s plan; 5.6 mile maintenance run <9:30/mile with kick at the end
Time of day: 8:00 a.m.
Temp.: 40º
Humidity: 40%
Weather: clear and cold
Course: Ridgeland Recreational Trail; rolling hills with some flats
Today’s run was back along the Natchez Trace in Ridgeland, MS. I wanted to again run sub 9:30/mile pace to keep a little intensity and kick it at the end.
Everything worked out pretty good. The leg isn’t give me any problems now. These past few days, only a slight tightness comes up, but no real big pain. That’s a good sign.
Today's stats; time on the 5.6 mile course, 52:26 with an avg. pace of 9:22/mile. The fastest mile was 8:59. Heart rate avg. was 148 bpm with a max of 178. I burned 624 calories
The weather was an absolute gorgeous morning for the last day of the year. The air was cool and breezy. Most of the leaves had fallen off the trees allowing me see further into the woods, even over to the Natchez Trace itself. This is another favorite part of the year for me as a runner. Once again, I ran up on a half a dozen deer crossing a few meters up the trail. Simply Beautiful.
Happy New Year, everyone!
Gotta run,
