This Summer, join Fleet Feet Sports and New Balance to walk or run your first 5k. The program focuses on beginners, but all levels of walkers and runners are welcome. The program is structured to help you cross the finish line of your first 5K in less than two months. Along the way we’ll be providing you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. Plus, you’ll have the camaraderie of others just like you.
As part of the experience, program participants will receive the following:
- A complete 8-week training program and calendar with detailed workouts provided
- A coached training session every week, to be held at Fleet Feet Sports every Tuesday at 6:30 pm (water provided)
- Informational clinics on proper footwear, injury prevention, and nutrition
- Weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement
- Dedicated support from the coach to answer individual questions
- Weekly Group Runs available from Fleet Feet Sports
- Special shopping night
- New Balance Technical T-shirt, socks, running bag, water bottle, and hat
- The fee for each program is $75 and does not include the race registration fee
- Race day is September 27, 2008.
- First group workout is August 5 at 6:30 pm.
