Running is a repetitive exercise, therefore, runners are susceptible to repetitive stress aches, pains and, over time, injuries. We all know stretching is good for us and helps with overuse injury prevention, especially in athletes. It's hard to fit it into our already busy training schedule. Butterfly Yoga and Fleet Feet Sports are bringing yoga to YOU!
Avid runner, Scotta Brady, E-RYT 500, NASM-CPT, will offer a 45-minute yoga class to introduce you to yoga and its many benefits, which include strength, flexibility, balance & muscular endurance. Yoga stretches, or asanas, also help flush lactic acid so you are less sore after your long runs or intense workout sessions, decreasing your recovery time so you can get back to training faster. In addition, yoga's focus on alignment can help correct issues that often lead to knee, hip and back pain.

Celebrate National Running Day and show your dedication to one of the greatest sports of all time by running with Fleet Feet Sports on Wednesday, June 5. This running celebration is from coast-to-coast as the nation proudly shows off an activity that’s simple, inexpensive and fun! Runners everywhere are encouraged to show they run for a reason, reaffirm their love of running, or kick-off a lifetime and life-changing commitment. We will be hosting 3 runs that day, at 6 am, 12 pm and 6pm. All runs will start at Fleet Feet, and will be 3 mile runs along the Ridgeland Multi-Use Trails. Join us for 2 out of the 3 runs, and get a free Fleet Feet t-shirt!

For more than 100 years, the Boston Marathon has given many people a sense of joy, accomplishment, resolve and victory. The finish line symbolizes the culmination of weeks, months and even years of hard work and dedication. But on Monday, an unknown entity attempted to strike down that happiness, and strip away that sense of accomplishment from runners, their families, and their friends.
Mere words cannot possibly relay our sadness, heartache and anger in response to these events. But we will not let the acts of a few take away our passion. This is a time for the Fleet Feet Sports community to come together and be resilient. Our brand manifestospeaks to who we are and how we will respond. We trample down walls. Watermelon Speed is a speed training program for the Watermelon Classic 5K. It is a 10 week program designed to help you set a PR at the Watermelon.
Workouts will be Tuesday evenings at Madison Central. This program will includes a semi-personalized training plan, weekly workouts, and a Fleet Feet Racing tee or singlet. Cost is $50, $30 if you are already participating in a Fleet Feet Sports Training program.Kick-off is Tuesday, April 23rd at Madison Central Track at 6 pm.
