Ridgeland Trail

The Ridgeland Trail, just north of Jackson, Mississippi, is 24 miles and passes through a variety of areas of historical significance and natural beauty. The northern trailhead is located at the Yockanookany pull-off at Milepost 131. The southern trailhead is at the West Florida Boundary site at Milepost 108. Along the way the trail passes by the River Bend scenic area (Pearl River) and the beautiful Cypress Swamp at Milepost 122.

Also important to note: if you're beginning at the West Florida Boundary, the trail may seem a bit confusing. At the beginning of the trail, go left! (Going right will take you on a 1-mile loop that can get pretty boring!) After running for maybe 1/4 mile, the trail opens up at the Natchez Trace. Run up the hill and to turn right on the road, run over 2 bridges, and after the second bridge head back down the hill where the trail opens up again.

Length: Approximately 5-7 miles total trail
Description: Lots of good running here…good for short runs and tempo runs, with great variety in the terrain. Trailhead in the parking area has a map of all the trails. Please pay the $5 fee to run, so that you are not considered a “Tresspasser”, since the land is privately owned by the TCMBA. They do offer annual memberships, however…there is info on this at the trailhead.
