2009 Training Programs
We will also sponsor 2 weekly group runs for those of you who are just looking for some buddies to run with. Read ahead, and check out some ways to make your resolution stick!
1. No Boundaries
Give your couch separation anxiety! This 11-week 5K training program is geared toward beginning runners/walkers and progresses at a slow, non-intimidating pace to prepare you for a 5K.
This program includes:
Informational Meeting- 7/16/09; 7:00 PM
Kick Off Run- 7/23/09
RUNdezvous 5k- 10/3/09
Fee- $100
2. Summer Speed Sessions
Whether you are trying to set a course record or just decrease the amount of walk breaks, this program is fun, challenging, and produces results.
This program includes:
Info meeting (and special shopping night)- May 5th; 6:30pm
Kick off run and time trial- 5/12/09
Watermelon Classic 5K- 7/4/09
Fee- $100
3. Running 201
Running 201 is a 25-week program that is designed to help you complete (Level 1) or improve (Level 2) a marathon or half-marathon. This program will include:
Informational Meeting- 7/7/09; 6:30PM
First Group Run- 7/18/09
Educational clinics will be held the 1st 5 Tuesdays, and group runs will be held on Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings (Level 2 includes speedwork/ Level 1 does not)
Mississippi Blues Marathon and Half-Marathon- 1/9/10
Fee- $150
We want these programs to be fun, welcoming for all levels, and affordable. Each program will be offered individually, but we will also offer the entire year as a package for $250 or any two programs for $200.
Also, don't forget! We still have the Fleet Feet group fun runs every Thursday evening at 6 PM free of charge for those who just want some buddies to run with.
